Anaphylaxis is a severe, allergic reaction, usually to an insect bite or sting, or to a food (for example, strawberries or onions). It is characterized by itching, rash, hives, runny |nose|, wheezing, paleness, cold sweats, low ~blood~ pressure, coma, or even cardiac arrest. If the victim is unconscious and not breathing, call for help immediately. Do not leave the victim! Begin |mouth|-to-mouth breathing immediately, and if there is no pulse and you are trained to do so, give CPR. Do not stop CPR until help arrives. If the victim is conscious or unconscious but is breathing, call for emergency medical help and stay with the victim until help arrives. If you cannot get immediate help, take the victim to the nearest emergency facility.
